Laurel Slongwhite, MA, CCC-A received her master’s degree in audiology in 2005 from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. While enrolled in school she completed clinical practicum placements at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Clarke School for the Deaf outpatient clinic, and the Greenfield Medical Center. Ms. Slongwhite completed a post-master’s clinical fellowship year at the Washington Audiology and Imaging Center on K Street in Washington, DC, where she gained experience in comprehensive hearing evaluations, balance testing and hearing aid fitting. She joined the Hearing Center of Drs. Hauck, Bianchi and Driscoll in July 2006.
Prior to entering the field of Audiology, Ms. Slongwhite earned an associate’s degree in American Sign Language interpreting and then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in history. Ms. Slongwhite worked as a special education advocate for children with special needs before continuing her education at the University of Massachusetts.
Ms. Slongwhite is licensed by the Maryland State Board of Examiners and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She resides in Washington, DC.
